As McSweeney resigns, we re-publish Peter Oborne’s Byline Times reporting on how Keir Starmer's chief strategist drove Labour towards defeat by the far-right
Before finding out about McSweeneys resignation I’d just listened to a lengthy and mesmerising / terrifying interview with Carole Cadwalladwr on Politics Joe concerning the UK’s Health and Defence contracts with US Trump aligned Palantir. So our data on defence - including nuclear - and our most personal details around our healthcare, can now be accessed and exploited not only by Palantir and associated entangled broligarch corporates, but by a US Government that a) has given itself the right to access all data held by US based companies and b) is creating a slush fund to support far right wing parties across Europe in subverting democracy (and regulation, accountability, etc).
With McSweeney gone how do we ensure that both in the advising of Starmer while he’s still there and in the debate around who should replace him that the flashing red lights Carole Cadwalladwr warns us of are heeded. There’s never been a more ‘Nation before Party’ moment.
Time for all those in the party who are already persuaded by Clive Lewis’s (for one) clear insights to speak up, whatever faction they belong to. True patriotism, authentic sovereignty and the freedom of our children from tyranny are all at stake. Which should, of course, be at the heart of Labours values and mission in any case. And - however slim the chance - a reversal of the ‘coup’ in Labour Paul Holden describes in ‘The Fraud’ is possible much sooner than the next election.
I heard or on Radio 4 this morning - I presume that such as her in needing to be informed know what the likes of Byline Times are saying even if they do not read it - I just hada feint hope she was coming round a little bit but I think she is probably a full on Blairite. When I lived in Liverpool i was forever being asked if derek is my brother - despite my London/Essex accent - it does get wearing - I am sorry.
Brilliant set of articles by Oborne. Recommending reading some books, finishing with the Fraud. Jaw dropping at times. Makes the machinations of the Vatican at times look positively benign
McSweeny did nothing for the political campaign. Labour had its own massive support and came out against Tories. Unfortunately it has a Tory at its head with as little political nous.
Electors will remember a paedophile's pants prancing friend Mandelson was appointed as US Ambassador by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer who floundered at President Trump's feet and Labour MPs will lose their seats
Both books i found fascinating in a depressing way. Im reading your book Peter, Complicit which is another essential read. Keep the writing going. We need books like these. Corporate capture is waiting to be written Peter. Palantir are one of the most immoral companies in the world. They are up there, with tobacco companies. Not only have has this Labour government sold its soul to the devil but it's sold our country to the nastiest people in the world. It has become clear to me that we have a Labour Government that we can all see but alongside it we have an Israeli shadow government that we only feel but never see. We feel the pull of Israel driven policies. Apparently all our foreign policies, have to get checked by Israel before being mentioned to the public. It feels much like the shadow planes they use over Gaza, that take off from British Cyprus, which we should have given back.
It's a colonial dog's dinner of a government. Thank goodness McSweeney's face won't be so visible and we will soon forget all about him. But not yet because he will still be doing the same job, just not in full view. I'm hoping that this Keir destroys the Labour Party and how ironic it would be, given that he was named after Keir Hardie. The Party is poisonous and needs to collapse in order to recreate itself.

I absolutely agree that everyone interested in this turn of events should read Paul Holden's book "The Fraud".
And watch his recent chat on Democracy for Sale ( https://democracyforsale.substack.com/p/labour-together-broke-the-law-dark-money-mcsweeney-simons-starmer )
Are you a member of the House of Lords, please?
I'm not THAT Jacky Smith, and I suspect she wouldn't want to suggest you read Paul Holden.

No worries... It doesn't happen that often, people have largely forgotten her.

They've destroyed everything they purported to stand for.
A long road back? If ever.
Parallel for Reform?

Time to return to the commonsense protection of the EU and realise most of the country have known that since 2016.
