That’s it. That’s the job this November. Preventing the collapse of democracy. Voting so we can vote again. Voting for the continuation of democratic governance so we fix things, like the Supreme Court, an anti-democratic force in America. The judiciary has been captured, as Hillary Clinton warned us it would be when she tweeted in 2015: “A Republican president could nominate as many as 4 Supreme Court justices… that should terrify you…”
Before Joe Biden was elected, our allies had started to speak of the US as part of a new Axis of Evil. Since Joe Biden rolled up his sleeves as the 46th President of the United States, our allies no longer speak of us that way — America is a trusted partner again. He put us back in the Paris Accord, he’s trying to save the North Atlantic Right Whale, he’s the guy who gets the call from other world leaders who need advice, because he is an experienced elder statesman.
But his 90-minute performance last week, standing next to a convicted felon and professional liar, has democratic operatives pearl clutching and members of the GOP sharpening their fangs.
