Stopping Trump Will Not End on Election Night
Even if the Democrats win this election, they cannot count on Kamala Harris being allowed into the White House, warns Matt Bernardini
With the abrupt departure of President Joe Biden from the 2024 election and the arrival of Kamala Harris, Democrats have suddenly become flush with enthusiasm and cash. Polls have swung wildly towards Harris. Just a few weeks ago Donald Trump was leading in nearly all of the most important swing states, now it is Harris who is tied or ahead in the most crucial areas.
While there is still a long way to go, it now appears that Harris, via several states, has multiple paths to victory. Yet Democrats should not get too excited, because with much of the Republican party now embracing outright authoritarianism, stopping Trump will not just end on election night. The Republican party in states across the country is laying the groundwork to once again challenge the election results in court, and this time they will be much more prepared than in 2020.
