Ruth is a professor of Italian studies and history, and a TV commentator, who regularly appears on MSNBC to brief viewers on authoritarianism and the rise of global strongmen.

Our Editor Hardeep Matharu, our Political Editor Adam Bienkov and our regular US contributor Heidi Cuda will also be on the call.

We will be talking about the rise of global ‘Strongmen’ such as Donald Trump, and discussing how to create a media that actually defends democracy.
