Recently, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, asked her voters how they could vote for her and yet also vote for Trump. Enthusiastically.
AOC pointed out that she was asking this question sincerely because she wanted to learn. She wanted to understand.
The reply from many of her voters was something along the lines of: “Because you’re both real.” In other words, from the perspective of politics, both AOC and Trump escape the practised, the careful, the media-trained politico. They appear to be above all of that; they give the impression of having walked away from the smooth, the cautious, the ambiguous, the “professional”.
